Staying Over?

How long should you stay in Newbury?

As locals, we love our little slice of the Berkshire and we know you will too. In our opinion, a two-night stay is pretty perfect. Looking for a little less? You’ll still have a fab time (we promise) but don’t be surprised if you find yourself wishing to stay on an extra night.

Looking to stay for longer than a couple nights? We’re here to help make sure that our hometown becomes the next you-gotta-go spot you tell all your friends about.

What are the best things to do in Newbury?

We totally get it if your plan involves just chilling in bed and sipping on a bottle (or two) of wine – hey, you’re on vacation, right? But if you’re itching for some adventure, you don’t have to venture far. Highclere Castle (better known on-screen as Downton Abbey) is on our doorstep and then just a hop, skip and little jump down the road lays Bombay Sapphire Distillery and Newbury Racecourse.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 3pm. If you arrive early and your room isn’t quite ready, there’s plenty of space in our cosy pub (or even the garden if that lovely sun is shining) to relax, have a bite to eat or a little tipple.

Arriving early and want to head out? No problem, we’ll hold on to your bags until you’re back.

Check-out is by 11am.

What time is breakfast?

Brekkie is served 8am-11am daily. If your room rate doesn’t include breakfast but you can’t quite resist, fear not, walk-ins are very welcome.

Do you have any family-friendly bedrooms?

We’ve got lots of family-friendly bedrooms. Our Comfy rooms have space for cots for the littlest of guests, and our Bigger Comfy can fit a fold-out bed, too. Kids under 2 stay for free. 2-16 are £15 per night.

Can I bring my dog to stay?

Four-legged friends are some of our favourite guests so naturally, we’ve made sure there’s a handful of dog-friendly bedrooms (you’ll want to book a Comfy).

Simply add your dog to your booking (up to two pooches can stay with you for £15 per night), and we’ll make sure they get a VIP welcome with a super-comfy doggy bed, blanket and tasty tail-wagging treats.

Getting Here

Do you have any parking?

Don’t sweat it – we’ve got plenty of on-site spots to keep your wheels worry-free.

We’ve also got three EV charging points too – so park up and power-up without a fuss.

How do I get to you via public transport?

The closest train statin to us is Newbury, and with trains and buses galore, getting to and from Newbury town centre is a breeze. Once you’re there, we suggest hopping in a taxi for a quick 10-minute ride straight to our door. Easy-peasy!

Booking Bits

Can I cancel my booking?

We understand that plans sometimes change, so we try to make our booking policies super flexible. You can cancel or modify your booking up to 12pm the day before your arrival. If you cancel outside of this time or don’t show up, we’re sorry, but we’ll have to charge you for the first night of your stay. The only rate that’s not flexible is the Early Bird, this one’s non-refundable and non-amendable.

Can I make changes to my booking?

You can make changes to your booking up to 12pm the day before your arrival. This includes changes to your package, room and extras (as long as it’s available). The only rate that’s not flexible is the Early Bird, this one’s non-amendable.

Can I get a copy of my invoice?

Of course. When booking online, you have the option to send an invoice in step 2. Missed this step? Not to worry, just ask at Reception and the team will email you a copy. Checked out already? Pop us an email and we’ll send one right over.
